Bridge with Beauchamp provides an opportunity for bridge players to improve their skills and partnership confidence. We offer holiday trips in Australia, providing workshops & duplicate sessions within the holidays. 

In Sydney, Anita presents zoom lessons at North Shore Bridge Club. David also gives seminars in country areas and interstate.

David

david

David is one of Australia’s leading bridge teachers. He has run workshops throughout Australia, including Coffs Harbour; Canberra/Cooma; Orange; Alice Springs; Dubbo, Darwin, Bowral, Armidale and the Central Coast and has conducted teaching tours in Queensland, Melbourne, Perth and the ACT, as well as a “Masterclass” in Brisbane.
David has also been a Celebrity Speaker at the Gold Coast Congress and the National Open Teams in Canberra on numerous occasions. He has presented seminars on how to prepare for national and international competitions for various state and Australian teams.
David was a teacher at North Shore Bridge Club for many years, presenting “Over Your Shoulder” Seminars for intermediate and advanced players. David is a highly successful bridge player, having represented Australia internationally and has had outstanding results in major national tournaments. He is a current member of the Australian Mixed Team for the World Championships (2022)!

 

Anita

anita

Anita (David’s wife) loves languages: speaking Japanese, Italian, German and some French! In her non-Bridge life, she was a teacher of foreign languages to high school students for 20 years, a Head Teacher of Languages and Teaching & Learning and has also taught language methodology to aspiring teachers at university. Anita has led many student/teacher tours to Japan and Italy. Anita returned to the bridge world after a 15 year break to pursue her career. In the 1990s, she represented NSW on the Women’s Team with Pauline Gumby and played for Australia in the Far East Championships in China. In 2013, she qualified for the NSW Women’s Team and was part of the winning NSW Women’s Team in 2017. She currently teaches at North Shore Bridge Club.

Holidays

Kiama Sebel: 15-18 May, 2023 

Kiama is 90 minutes drive from Sydney CBD (31 Shoalhaven St, Kiama). The Sebel Harbourside has a lovely setting overlooking the water. The function centre is heritage listed and was the Kiama Infants School for over 100 years!

Attractions around the area:
– Whale & dolphin watching
– Kiama Coastal walk (there are different sections easily accessible from Kiama)
– Minnamurra Rainforest (15 mins drive) – walk to the falls or rainforest loop
– Kiama blowhole & Little Blowhole; ocean pools, Saddleback Mountain lookout (10 mins drive);
photogenic Cathedral Rocks (Jones Beach in Kiama Downs); “The Boneyard” cove & Bombo Headland.
– Wednesday afternoon farmers’ market; historic Terrace Houses & shops; Old Fire Station
Community Arts Centre exhibitions
– Kiama golf course; Grand Pacific Drive – the scenic road all the way to Kiama

Our Schedule
Start your holiday on Monday from 1.30pm with a talk and then a duplicate session from 2pm. Dinner is in The Quarry Room overlooking the water at the venue.

Tuesday & Wednesday mornings from 9.30am, there will be a lesson finishing by 11.45am. There is free time until the afternoon duplicate (from 2pm to 5pm). Dinner is at a restaurant of your choice (own cost).
On Thursday, there will be a final duplicate session until approximately 1.15pm.

Inclusions:
– Twin share/single accommodation with continental breakfast each day
– 2 lessons; 1 talk & 4 duplicate sessions with coffee & tea
– Welcome drink; dinner on Monday, one morning/afternoon tea each day

Cost: $740 per person twin share, of which $330 per person is payable to The Sebel Harbourside Kiama. $410 per person payable to David & Anita. Single: $1010, of which $600 is payable to The Sebel Harbourside Kiama; $410 payable to David & Anita.
